What does your job entail?

Since 2020, I've been working as an HR Advisor at the Red Cross. My daily tasks involve advising and supporting managers on HR-related issues.

How did you end up at the Red Cross?

After completing my education, I worked for various employers in different industries. Eventually, I found myself working for a welfare organization. There, I realized that practicing my profession in an organization that cares deeply about people and society is the best fit for me. Especially when I can do this alongside colleagues who share the same drive and passion. So when this position became available at the Red Cross, it was really a no-brainer for me.

What do you enjoy most about the work and the organization?

What makes my work so interesting is the variety of issues we deal with. There is so much happening in society, both in the Netherlands and worldwide. We see this reflected in the puzzles we try to solve on a daily basis. It provides a great challenge to execute our assistance as effectively as possible amidst the tension of different interests. At the same time, there is room for personal development. You can create a good work-life balance that allows you to perform your work as effectively as possible and, above all, be human.
