What does your job entail?
I am an Outsystems Developer within the information management and IT team. My work involves elaborating on user stories within outsystems applications.
How did you end up joining the Red Cross?
I transitioned to this role from the Functional Management position, so I can leverage that experience with the business to understand the needs behind the user stories. That gives an advantage when developing new applications and functionalities.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
The best part of my work is the friendly and fun team I work with. We are an informal team and have a lot of fun together. Additionally, what I find very rewarding is that I'm doing work with a societal impact. You also get the opportunity to engage in this aspect because it's normal to do a few hours of volunteer work during working hours each year. I have supported at a shelter location and during a festival a few times. By seeing what challenges people face during volunteer work, you also come up with all sorts of ideas for improving applications. That's fun. But it is the participation that matters. Ultimately, the applications I create are there to support them in carrying out the good work they do.
